Laura came to Prairie Moon shortly after graduating from the University of Northern Iowa. There, she became captivated by the prairie ecosystem working as a student assistant for UNI Tallgrass Prairie Center. While growing native prairie species, she was bewildered by the incredible wildlife interactions the prairie ecosystem supports.

After work, you can find Laura creating watercolor paintings and pastel drawings. She is a commission artist who sells her works at local craft and art fairs. When she gets artist’s block you might find her hiking, biking, or canoeing. Of course, after a long day of outdoor recreation she enjoys attending concerts and stand-up comedy shows.
